dc.description.abstractLa Distonia Cervical describe la hiperactividad distonica de la musculatura del cuello, que origina posturas anormales de la cabeza. Entre las posibles causas que origina esta patología tiene que ver con una disfunción de la neurotransmisión de información a nivel de los ganglios basales y una activación anormal de las áreas corticales. Esta patología tiene una mayor afectación en mujeres que en hombres, con un pico de edad de inicio entre los 40 y 50 años. Por el momento no existen guías validadas de diagnóstico clínico, que permitan diferenciar la Distonia Cervical de otros trastornos cervicales. El tratamiento se basa fundamentalmente en la aplicación de la toxina botulínica, pero puede llevarse tratamiento fisioterapéutico complementario, las cuales incluye ejercicios, fortalecimiento y control postural. Además de esto también se utiliza tratamiento farmacológico y en algunos casos tratamiento quirúrgicoes_PE
dc.description.abstractThe Cervical Dystonia describes the dystonic hyperactivity of the neck musculature that originates abnormal postures of the head. Among the possible causes that causes this pathology has to do with a dysfunction of information neurotransmission at the level of the basal ganglia and an abnormal activation of the cortical areas. This pathology is more affected in women than in men, with an age period of 40 and 50 years. At the moment there are no specific guidelines for clinical diagnosis that differentiate Cervical Dystonia from other cervical disorders. The treatment is fundamentally based on the application of botulinum toxin, but complementary physiotherapy treatment can be taken, which includes exercises, strengthening and postural control.
