Abstract

La Incontinencia Urinaria se define como una pérdida involuntaria de orina que representa un problema higiénico o social, que afecta a millones de personas, principalmente a la mujer. Algunos estudios estiman que la incontinencia urinaria afecta a más de dos millones de personas, de los cuales el 75 % son mujeres y el 25 % son hombres, en donde la mayoría no acude al personal calificado a tiempo y se da cuando la patología está bastante avanzada. El factor de riesgo: se da por hipermovilidad uretral, pérdida de fuerza muscular de suelo pélvico, disminución del grosor uretral, estabilidad lumbopélvica, estreñimiento, deportes hiperpresivos, tos crónica, obesidad, partos, etc.
