Especialidad en ortodoncia y ortopedia maxilar asociación del tipo facial y las dimensiones mandibulares en pacientes evaluados en un instituto de diagnóstico maxilofacial

Abstract

El objetivo de esta tesis, fue determinar si existe relación entre el tipo facial y las dimensiones mandibulares. Este estudio se realizó con cincuenta vistas laterales del cráneo en Tomografías Computarizados Cone-Beam (TCCB), tomados de pacientes de ambos sexos (21 varones y 29 mujeres, con una edad promedio 26.39 ± 4.42 años), quienes no presentaron tratamiento ortodóntico previo; los que se distribuyeron en 3 grupos según el Tipo Facial: Grupo Hipodivergente, Grupo Normodivergente y Grupo Hiperdivergente, se tomaron cuatro medidas lineales para determinar las dimensiones mandibulares. El análisis cuantitativo de los datos se llevó a cabo empleando la prueba estadística ANOVA de un factor con comparaciones múltiples post-hoc de Scheffe

The objective of this thesis was to determine if there is a relationship between the facial type and the mandibular dimensions. This study was performed with fifty side views of the skull in Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), taken from patients of both sexes (21 men and 29 women, with an average age of 26.39 ± 4.42 years), who did not have previous orthodontic treatment; those that were distributed in 3 groups according to the Facial Type: Hypodivergent Group, Normodivergent Group and Hyperdivergent Group, four linear measurements were taken to determine the mandibular dimensions. The quantitative analysis of the data was carried out using the one-way ANOVA statistical test with multiple post-hoc comparisons of Scheffe.
